Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar today announced the appointment of Wangsa Maju Member of Parliament Zahir Hassan as the new chairman of the Skills Development Fund Corporation (PTPK) effective Sept 21.
In a statement, he also announced the appointment of Bukit Gasing assemblyman Rajiv Rishyakaran as deputy chairman of PTPK with effect from the same date.
“I am confident that the appointment of the new PTPK chairman and deputy chairman will enable them to lead the organisation and continue the momentum in developing highly skilled human capital in Malaysia,” said Sivakumar.
PTPK is a statutory body under the Ministry of Human Resources responsible for providing financial assistance in the form of loans to individuals such as school leavers, graduates and others who are interested in pursuing skills training.
PTPK has expanded the scope of its skills training loans from 2021 to include not only training fees, takaful payments, and cost of living allowance, but also computer loan facilities of up to RM2,500 and transport allowance of RM2,000.
